You can easily trigger avalanches on some steep slopes. Avalanches can get large enough to bury or even kill you (size 2).

Nysnøen fra helga er påvirka av høye temperaturer mandag og tirsdag. Overflata antas å være fukta opp til minst 1000 moh. Rygger og fjelltopper er avblåst og det ligger mest fokksnø i leheng mot nord og øst. Det er lite snø for årstida og under tregrensa er det tynt snødekke begrensa skiføre mange steder.

Vedvarande svake lag frå kuldeperioden i januar/februar kan fortsatt være et problem noen steder over 1300 moh.

11 mm precipitation, up to 26 mm in the most exposed areas. Moderate gale from southwest, changing to fresh breeze from the southwest during the afternoon. -6 °C to 0 °C at 1400 m a.s.l. Cloudy.

Påfyll av snø og sterk vind fra sørvest flytter snø inn i nordaustvendte
leformasjoner. Det ser ut til å komme mest snø i midtre Nordfjord. I bratte heng med fersk fokksnø kan en skiløper løse ut skred. Høgt til fjells kan det finest svake lag av kantkorn djupt i snødekket i enkelte heng.
